Showing News 2011

Congratulations to Mrs Emma Lister and family and Team Templeton with again qualifying Birtley Rainbow Quest for RIHS and HOYS.

Well done to Fayre Stud  with their 2 colt foals by Red Pepper -  winning 1st Three Counties Show,  1st Midlands Welsh Medal Show and 2nd at Northleach Medal Show.

We have been out with Birtley Magic Girl - 1 x 1st, 2 x 2nd and 2 x 3rd  in mixed m&m and Welsh classes. She was also 6th Royal Welsh in the Barren Mare class. At Midarc Championship show she was Champion A/B 4yo and over and Champion mare (any breed).

Merlyn has been 4th Glanusk and 4th Shropshire and West Midlands.

We took Birtley Shimmer to her first show (Minsterley Medal Show) since a yearling 8 years ago and were very pleaseed to achieve a 2nd in the broodmare class. Her foal, Spun Silk, was 2nd in the foal class.

Foaling News 2011

Our first foal of 2011 is a lovely friendly filly called Birtley Cathys Dream (Maisie), by Karsl Rowan out of Llangeitho Petra.

Next, born 2nd May by the kitchen window, another filly, a real stunner called Birthday Girl (Snowdrop) by Eyarth Tayma out of Brookhouse Snowflake. Snowflake is a sister to our beloved Chuckler, many thanks to Hilin Stud for letting us have such a grand old mare.

Welsh National Show

Great results from the show this year. Our colt foal (see For Sale page) Birtley Welsh Wizard won the foal class and another colt by our Eyarth Red Pepper was second. His dam, B. Magic Girl was 4th in a very strong class.

Hay Show 2010

We took Birtley Magic Girl and her foal Birtley Wizard to Hay Show where both of them were winners.

It's off to HOYS we go!

Birtley Rainbow Quest, owned by Julie Templeton and shown by Shannon Meers, picked up his HOYS ticket in the 12hh SHP class at the South of England Show. Congratualtions to Team Templeton.

Birtley Magic Girl has been showing recently, her first time off the farm since a foal and she was 4th out of 16 and her foal Birtley Wizard was best foal in show.

Birtley Rainbow Quest, now owned and produced by Julie Templeton has had a great start to the season being 1st and Reserve Champion at BSPS Area 6 show, qualifying for Royal International.

He is by Brookhouse Chuckler and was sold from the stud as a 2yo. We look forward to following his 'quest' for stardom this season and wish his owner and rider all the best for the season.

Also congratulations to Mel Dennis with BIRTLEY EL CID, Reserve champion Welsh pony. What a great start to the season.
